TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The hire period is for 3 days:
    DAY 1 – Pick-up Day
    DAY 2 – Event Day
    DAY 3 – Return Day
  2. The client MUST pay a reservation fee of 50% or the full amount on confirmation of our quotation
    and the remaining 50% is to be paid on or before the collection day.
  3. The client will be allowed to pick up the equipment a day before the event and return the day after the
    event. Equipment not returned or replaced on the specified day and no communication whatsoever
    from the client will be termed as hired and will attract a daily hire charge until returned and/or paid for.
  4. A lost and found item by the client that was previously charged will not be accepted back after oneweek elapses hence no refunds will be made.
  5. Equipment picked on Friday for the Saturday event will be returned on Monday unless there is a prior
    arrangement with the owner to return after the return day. Please NOTE: VASSIE’S CROCKERY AND
    CUTLERY HIRE OFFICE REMAINS CLOSED ON SUNDAY hence no returns of equipment on SUNDAY.
    Clients are strongly warned never to leave any of our equipment at the security guard’s house at the main
    gate outside office working hours. VASSIE’S CROCKERY AND CUTLERY HIRE will not take any
    responsibility for lost/broken equipment left at the security guard house.

  6. In addition to the rental fee, the client shall pay a security deposit of 25% of the total hire amount
    or KES 3,000 Minimum deposit at the time this agreement is signed. This deposit shall be returned to the
    client upon the return of the equipment and termination of this agreement and after the owner confirms
    that there are no damages or losses. In case of any damages, we will deduct from the refundable
    deposit and the client will add any excess, the owner will refund any balance thereof.
    NOTE: We only reserve equipment after payment of the 50% deposit or total hire amount.
  7. It is the responsibility of the customer to collect the equipment from our office located on Riara
    Road, Nairobi or any other location we may move to in future, and return them to the owner at the
    end of the hire period. VASSIE CROCKERY AND CUTLERY HIRE does not deliver to/or pick equipment
    from clients. We do not arrange delivery for our clients. Pick up by UBER or RIDERS is not allowed.
    UBER drivers do not confirm the goods which goes against our policy.
  8. The client MUST count and confirm that all the equipment is in good working condition, check on
    any chipping or breakages and that the numbers are as ordered for. If a client fails to confirm the
    equipment and finds chipped, broken or less equipment later after pick-up, she/he will be liable and
    will be required to pay the total refund cost of the item. The same confirmation will apply upon
    return of the equipment by our staff.
  9. Once the client picks the equipment, she/he will be responsible for the care of the equipment until
    they are returned.
  10. All Risks and liability thereof of the equipment hired will be passed immediately to the client after
    leaving the physical location or control of the supplier. The client will pay in full the company set retail
    price /refund charge of the equipment hired which is indicated in the invoice in case of theft during
    the hire period whether he/she had used the equipment or not.
  11. Ownership of the equipment remains at all times with the supplier.
  12. The hired equipment MUST be returned by the client in good working order and condition, clean
    and dry and is in the condition they were hired in. WE DO NOT OFFER CLEANING SERVICES AND WE
    EXPECT ALL EQUIPMENT RETURNED CLEAN. Our equipment is very sensitive and great care MUST be
    taken when cleaning and handling them. We prefer our equipment cleaned using a sponge or soft
    cloth and not steel wire or scrubber. Please do not use hot water to clean our golden cutlery and
    crockery and glassware. Use cold or luke warm water. Do not use microwave on our crockery
    especially the gold reamed bone China crockery.

    IN CASE we find the returned equipment not clean as per our standards, each dirty item found will
    atract a cleaning fee depending on the type and how dirty the item is. The cleaning charges for dirty
    equipment can be confirmed at the reception desk.
  13. Any chipped, broken, partly burnt, fully burnt and spoilt, cracked and soiled equipment will not be
    accepted and the client will be returned with it and pay in full the set company retail replacement.
    PLEASE NOTE THAT: We do not take replacements of similar items but accept cash refund ONLY.
  14. No refund will be done after signing this contract and the relocation of equipment from our store. If
    a client hires equipment for more than one day and something happens that the hire days are reduced
    from the client’s side, no refund will be done in such cases. No refunds will be done if the clients
    happen not to use the equipment after hire, either fully or partly.
  15. For long term hire the client MUST pay 35% refundable deposit, minimum Kshs.5000 and one
    months’ hire amount and then weekly payment henceforth. The supplier has the right to recall the
    equipment during the hire period and the equipment remains the supplier’s property at all time. In case
    of one weeks default the supplier will have no option but recall the equipment and take necessary action
    to recover the amount due.
    CANCELLATION POLICY
    In the event of a cancellation a rebate of hire charges will be done as follows:
  • 14 days or more prior to event – No Charges.
  • Up to 10 days or more prior to event – 30% charges on paid amount.
  • Up to 5 days to event date – 50% charges on paid amount.
  • Up to 48hrs or less to event – No refund.
    WORKING HOURS: MONDAY to FRIDAY: 8.00am to 5:00pm
    SATURDAY : 8.00am to 2:00pm
